About Dehradun:-
240 kms from New
Delhi lies the Dehradun Valley. The Valley lies between
Western Himalayan ranges comprising of Chakrata, Mussoorie
and Dhanaulti in the North and Shiwalik ranges in the South.
In the West it is bordered by river Yamuna and in the East
by river Ganges. Besides these two major rivers, the valley
is well watered by many perennial streams. The area and its
surrounding hills has a record of 587 bird species. Mixed
forests dominated by Sal, cover most of the valley and
surrounding hills. The flat stretches in the central valley
is occupied by agricultural land, riverside scrubs and
agro-forestry.

English and the regional Garhwali languages are spoken by
the people here.
Climate:-
Low
of about 4-5o C in the winters and high of about
40oC in the summers. The valley receives about
210 cms of rain annually, most of which falls during the
monsoons (June to September).

How to reach
Dehradun:-
Dehradun is a
5-6 hours journey from New Delhi by road. Many trains
connect Dehradun with New Delhi, the most convenient being
the Shatabadi Express which takes 6 hours to reach.

picnic spot with natural running water.

Aasan
Barrage:
A haven for
migrating birds and a good picnic spot with boating and
water skiing facilities.

Bhumi’, Dehradun is surrounded by many famous temples
like Tapkeshwar Temple, Laxmansidh Temple, Buddhist
Monastery at Clemant Town etc.
